Why visit the DPRK ?
There are many reasons why one might like to visit the DPRK. Here are a few :
* to penetrate the world’s most closed country and see the "Hermit Kingdom" with one's own eyes;
* to better understand peace by visiting the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the world’s most heavily armed frontier;
* to help us build goodwill and trust in order to establish a growing and peaceful relationship between the DPRK and the rest of the world;
* to give visitors from Hong Kong and beyond the opportunity to experience life in the unique society that is the DPRK, with a view to building a deeper understanding of peace and international issues in such a way that they might become sources of information to others about the situation in the DPRK;
* to enhance visitors' critical thinking skills and to allow them to see an issue of global importance from a perspective that is different from what the Western media usually portrays;
* to visit sites of great historical importance and of incredible natural beauty, that would otherwise be very difficult to experience;
* to encourage cultural and biographical exchanges with young Koreans in the schools that we visit;
* to visit a country that very few people get to visit !
* to experience a photographer's paradise - one memory stick simply won't be enough ...
Contrary to popular belief, it is safe to assume that the DPRK is one of the safest countries in the world for travellers to visit. Visitors are always accompanied by local guides, who are responsible for the smooth running of the trips and for the comfort of all the members of the group.
Annoyances such as pickpocketing, harassment, theft, traffic accidents and health-related problems are virtually unheard of in the DPRK, and all visitors will feel at ease, welcome and well taken care of.
